Sunset walks and rides

Following on from our last post, sunset walks and rides can be particularly stunning. At this time of year, they tend to happen by default! This is Loch Morlich, one of the best known local beauty spots, located at the foot of Cairngorm mountain. It is an easy walk just going round it – or better still skiing round it a bit later in the year- but it can be extended with a hill climb on foot or bike. This shot was taken after a bike trip over An Slugan and Ryvoan passes, which takes you right into the heart of the Cairngorms. Starting from Loch Morlich, it’s a 30km ride with 415m of ascent. From Inverdruie it is 43km and 512m ascent, nearly all offroad. Recommend.
